Defiance Area YMCA
The Defiance Area Foundation granted $25,000 to the YMCA’s
Capital Campaign. The funds were used to build a new gymnasium,
skate park, and youth center. |

Defiance County Senior Services
The Defiance Area Foundation recently granted $25,000 towards
the Defiance County Senior Center Building Project. These funds will
help construct a new Senior Center for the older adults of Defiance
County. |

The Defiance College
The Defiance Area Foundation recently granted $30,000 towards
the renovations at The Defiance College for Tenzer Hall which will
allow the third floor of Tenzer Hall to be used for state-of-the-art
labs and classrooms. The second-floor renovations will include new
classrooms, wet and dry labs, and a state-of-the-art forensic
science lab. |

Community Health Professionals (Hospice)
The Defiance Area Foundation recently granted $20,000 towards
the new In-patient Hospice Center. This facility provides those with
terminal illnesses to live there last days in comfort and peace. |

Big Brothers Big Sisters
The Defiance Area Foundation recently approved a $500 grant to
be used towards a mentoring program for Big Brothers Big Sisters in
Defiance County. This will be an after school program that will
allow youth to receive quality mentoring services. |

Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA)
The Defiance Area Foundation recently approved a granted of $500
for FCA. This organization is the largest interdenominational sports
ministry in the world. This grant will allow FCA enhance and further
develop their existing programs at the surrounding High Schools and
The Defiance College. |

Apache Flower Power Junior Master Gardener Program
The Defiance Area Foundation recently awarded a $1,000 grant to
the Defiance County 4-H club for the Junior Master Gardener Program
at Fairview Elementary School. These funds will be used to construct
a house to store equipment and plants. |

Ravens
The Defiance Area Foundation recently granted $500 to Ravens
towards the purchase of pre-made school kits for children in
Defiance County. These kits hold basic items that children require
to begin school, along with book bags. Children benefiting from this
program are in primary, elementary, junior high, and high school.

Defiance Area Youth for Christ
The Defiance Area Foundation awarded $19,500 to Defiance Area
Youth for Christ for building improvements at the Youth for Christ
Youth Center at 210 Clinton Street. Phase Two includes two handicap
accessible restrooms, and equipment such as pool and ping pong
tables, big screen TV, sound system, and computers. |

Veterans of Foreign War
The Defiance Area Foundation recently granted $5,000 as a
capstone grant to the Veteran’s of Foreign War. This grant will be
used to assist with the reconstruction and repairs of a monument
that was dedicated in Sherwood, Ohio. This monument is located in
the Sherwood Cemetery. This memorial was established to honor and
pay tribute to the veterans who served in the Civil War. |

Veteran’s of Foreign War – Honor Flight
The Defiance Area Foundation recently granted $5,000 for
veterans to journey to Washington, D.C. to visit the World War II
Memorial that was dedicated May 24, 2004. The cost is approximately
$500 per veteran. Their mission is to “Fly American Veterans to
Washington, D.C. to visit those memorials dedicated to honor the
service and sacrifices of themselves and their friends.”

Defiance County Humane Society
The Defiance Area Foundation recently granted $4,000 as a
capstone gift to the Defiance Humane Society for chain link fencing
materials and installation. |

Defiance High School
The Defiance Area Foundation recently approved a grant for
Defiance High School for $1,622 for 2 rolls of cheer floor. |

First Presbyterian Church
The Defiance Area Foundation awarded $150.00 for Mission Trips. |

The Defiance Area Foundation awarded $1,829 for repairs and
maintenance at Kid’s Creation. |

Justin Coressel Fund – Auglaize Village
The Trustees recently approved a grant for $2,800 for repairs
and maintenance for the Buildings at Auglaize Village. |

Michael A. Schultz Leadership Fund
The Defiance Area Foundation recently awarded a grant for $2,500
from the Michael A. Schultz Leadership Fund for a DECA leadership
conference for students at Defiance Senior High School. |
